Configuration Manager 2012 Console in Read Only

After recently implementing a Configuration Manager 2012 proof of concept environment, my console was displayed in read-only.

It turns out that when installing a primary site under a CAS site you will get the following message until the replication has completed.

Your Configuration Manager console is in read-only mode while this site completes tasks related to maintenance mode

In the¬†Monitoring workspace you can check the Database Replication to see if this is completed¬†and then restart your console. Or you can check in rcmctrl.log. You are looking in either case for “Link is active” to be displayed then you are good to go.
